Linda Holmes

Linda is the 2004 recipient of the Emmett Fritz prize as well as numerous other awards.

Her work has been accepted by BREASTPLATES AND OTHER ARMOR AGAINST CANCER, in a touring art exhibition from Oct.2006-Oct.2008. A portion of the proceeds is to be used to provide mammograms to people unable to afford them. A mammogram detected Linda's breast cancer affording her the opportunity to be a survivor.

She is a member of several art organizations including First Coast Plein Air Painters and a St. Augustine pleinair group, the St. Augustine Art Association and Jacksonville Coalition For the Visual Arts .

Her paintings hang in St. Augustine and Jacksonville galleries and in private collections in the U.S. and Europe. Linda participates in art exhibits and shows and is an oil painting instructor. She also accepts commissions in a variety of subjects.

She continues to take advantage of expanding her artistic endeavors with workshops, instruction and the joy of watching the results when paintbrush and paint transform the appearance of canvas, paper or wood.

Having had the good fortune to participate in workshops in Provence and the Dordogne have resulted in landscapes and interiors beyond the North Florida horizon as well working with and meeting artists from other regions in the US and other countries.

A Massachusetts native and former travel industry employee , Linda has taken advantage of using the beauty of New England and Europe and other countries in her work. Living in St. Augustine offers and endless array of local scenes in her colorful paintings.
