Artists Information: Allie's subject matter includes floral subjects, island scenes and the houses and barns of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her preference is for a close up or a less than traditional viewpoint or color. She enjoys incorporating texture through various watercolor techniques in all her pieces. Spatter, salt and masking are all used to create interesting textures. The watercolor paper she uses is Arches. Pigments are primarily DaVinci paints. Artist materials are gathered through photos and sketches on site then developed in the studio. Floral reference materials are frequently made available from her husband's prolific gardening skills.
